Since Linux is Open Source, anyone can modify and distribute it, with certain restrictions, so there are a number of "flavors" of Linux, like Red Hat, Ubuntu, SUSE, all of which use the same basic code, but have customized portions. Except for these customized portions, if you know how to do something in one flavor of Linux, you can probably do it similarly in some other flavor of Linux. Ivory is OK, but I prefer the smell of Coast. Same concept.
