Blogger Made Me Jealous

You know that cool new feature Blogger has that allows you to get updated when OTHER people’s blogs get comments? Yeah, I was jealous. So now, you can do that same thing on my blog. I can tell you’re just *shaking* with excitement at the idea. I don’t blame you. It’s so exciting.

(Oh, and if you’re really that excited about getting comment updates on my blog — you should really get outside more. And maybe get some counseling.)

  1. Hey, since you mentioned Blogger – can you tell me why, when I want to post on a Blogger spot, I can’t sign in with my WordPress account? I can post with a nickname or annonymously, but not using my URL. Any thoughts?

  2. Yeah, blogger requires you to have a blogger (ie, gmail) account in order to post comments. That’s not entirely true, as the individual bloggers can set whether anon comments are allowed, etc, but for the most part, you have to have a gmail account to post comments normally.

It sucks, but since I use gmail for my email service provider, it’s not a huge deal for me. Hope that helps!

  3. Nope. I’ve had this email for MANY years (I’m a girl – we’re not required to say how long…).

So I have to set up a new email account in order to post my URL on a Blogger site?

    SHIT–take mushrooms.

  4. No, not really. You can set up a blogger account, and use it only to post on blogspot blogs. It’s pretty painless. In your blogger account, you can set up a profile to determine what people see when they click on your name in a comment. (I much prefer the way wordpress handles this, where you just enter the information in the comment itself, but I guess that’s why I’m not a billionaire, and Google is taking over the world…)
